Perimenopause period changes: What you need to know
Want to know how your menstrual cycle can change through perimenopause? Perimenopause coach Sarah summaries some of the key period changes that you can experience during perimenopause and how they can differ in the early and late stages of perimenopause.
A little something extra to be aware of:
Officially, you are post-menopausal when you haven’t had a period for one year. Post-menopause is the time when you can no longer get pregnant. So, if you just go by the one-year measurement and then you get a period back after a year and a half, it means your hormones are still shifting a little bit. It may be best to consider post-menopause to be two years after your last period to be safer from an...

Can you still get pregnant in this stage?
Thank you ms Eillen , For this beautiful talk, Sometimes menopause gives a break and then it comes back like enemy
Thanks for this video! I missed a period and am going into 50 days now of bleeding and very large clots. Two years ago, the same thing happened but only bled for 31 days. It is scary. I started iron tables and see my dr this week. I feel like my life is on hold. It's horrible feeling that gush. Praying we all get through this phase of our lives quickly and without any serious issues.
Oh im 49
I have been dealing with this for 17 years! Please, I haven't had a break just congestive heart failure.
Short and sweet 😊, very useful info👍
I have this right now, I panic going having to drive
I watched this video before but I had never had nausea symptoms until all of a sudden I started having them. Sometimes in the morning or during the day after I eat. I was diagnosed with costochondritis so at times my sternum pain flares up and I eat something than I start with nausea. When is this going to stop? Thank you for the video and for all the videos. They are very helpful and informative. ❤
Thank you
Dry Eye Syndrome is one of the common menopause symptoms. It occurs when the eyes do not produce sufficient tears or when the tear film is not functioning properly, leading to symptoms like irritation, a gritty sensation, and blurred vision.
A diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, probiotics, and phytoestrogens plays a pivotal role in maintaining vaginal health.
My postmenopause hands joints are in flame every morning, hardly can fold them. I have to soak in warm to hot water to release and relax them so I can go on with my day. I did bunch of tests but nothing wrong with it. I guess all I can do to live with it for life. Sadly :(
Hormonal changes during menopause dampen libido, making sexual arousal more difficult.
Hello Eileen, is follicuilits a problem too in menopause.
I took some in dry herb 500mg and didnt sleep and feel groggy i took calmag and b1 and mag glyinate i have low thyroid issues id like to take it again shud i take it without calmag maybe 😊
There are no contraindications with those supplements so you can take them together. However Valerian can have the opposite effect in some people so if you find that you cannot sleep after taking Valerian I would suggest trying Passiflora and Avena sativa instead - www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/passiflora-complex/ These drops are made from fresh plants. Dry herbs lose their efficacy about a year after harvest so it may also be that the dried valerian supplement has been harvested more than a year ago. I hope this helps!
Thank you for your lesson
You're welcome! Best Wishes Eileen
As an anxiety specialist, I love that you are sharing these tips about anxiety during the menopause. I agree that writing down your thoughts and journaling can be so beneficial, as well as deep breathing and exercise as we can then send love letters to our body that we are safe xx

Check out the videos about female hormones and glaucoma at The Glaucoma Foundation on youtube www.youtube.com/@theglaucomafoundation/videos Be sure to go to the eye doc every year! :)
My cleavage smells after menopause. I'm constantly washing it. Smells like curdled milk. If I sweat even a little I have to wash immediately.
You may find using a natural deodorant in the area can be of benefit and try a gentle antifungal cream in case there is an infection there as well. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi sorry for the comment, how many grams of rolled oats max should i make per day? I feel like im making to much... I mix with water. Thanks :)
I'd opt for around 40g per portion, but be sure to add some healthy fats and protein to every portion which is crucial, as it will help to slow the release of the carbs and make your meal much more satisfying. Enjoy! Best wishes, Emma
@@AvogelCoUk thanks for the reply, I appreciate it heaps. I've been mixing a apple cider vinegar lemon drink in the mourning now with the half cup of rolled oats. Just needs to up my fiber alot due to a LDL raise from to much saturated fats... Thankyou heaps I appreciate it. With healthy fats with a can of tuna be okay to eat after the oatmeal as a healthy fat? I'm allergic to nuts that's all
Thanks for this info, I'm post menopausal and still suffer.digesstion and bloating and discomfort if I eat certain foods like beans and broccoli, My flushing gets bad and then I get anxiety, Could stress do all this,
Hi Emma Yes, stress can have a huge impact on digestion causing symptoms such as bloating, constipation, wind etc. and can also trigger flushes and sweats Best Wishes Eileen
When to consume? 3times? How muchnto consume?
You go by what the manufacturer recommends as doses can differ between products
Omggg..thank you...started at 43 and thought I was dying. Now at 47 I really want it to be over. Hot flashes, night sweats, irregular, PAIN. The anxiety is horrible. The mood swings are no picnic either. Changing my diet helped with added vitamins. Best thing I bought was a portable air conditioner. Good luck to all!
A year ago I was constantly yelling at our new crazy dog, my kid, sometimes my husband and being triggered by things and reacting out of my normal fashion. I didn’t realize at the time what was happening. Now I’m in the sad, crying almost every day phase and have come to the realization that at 46 this is really happening. It’s hard when all your life you are the cool and calm type who can deal with anything into a raging, angry person. It helps at least k owing why to get to the step of how do I fix this.
Hope my tips are helpful for you Best Wishes Eileen
I started taking ashwaganda for the anxiety and sleep it does help .
Great to hear that it's helping you! Best Wishes Eileen
There are times I can't recall doing some actions..is it normal
Yes, we can go into 'automatic pilot' mode more often! Best Wishes Eileen
Hello Eileen! I wanted to ask if the hot weather can decrease magnesium in the body? Because I seem to have to take more now than I do in the cooler months. Thanks for your time. 😊
Hi Melisa. There is no one specific reason why magnesium needs go up in the summer but it could be due to various factors such as stress, (even going on holiday can be stressful or being more busy in the garden) more alcohol or fizzy drink intake (we tend to drink more in the better weather), processed foods such as BBQs and summer parties or even having to look after family or grandchildren. Maybe have a look to see if your daily regime is different in the summer and that might give you a clue. Best Wishes Eileen
@@AvogelCoUkThank you for your advice. Thinking on my activities now, I believe it may be due to being more active in the warmer weather.
I find that using a low sugar electrolytes powder a few times a week in the summer helps me a lot. Low sugar and low sodium ones are the best
I have a mirena so bleeding is significantly reduced anyway
Bloating is the main symptom in menopause.... (myself zero period for 3+ years now). And now cramps. It is in intestines...not the stomach. It feels like gas not water retention. Yes hydration is important. It seems like exercise (over an hour) , and eating beef... helps a lot. And lowering stress. I was a vegetable and fish person my whole life. Almost no sugar, or junk food. I'm thin.
Hi Kyra You may find a probiotic can be helpful for the bloating! Best Wishes Eileen
My doctor who has me on HRT suggested an increase in progesterone and also recommended DHEA, that really help. I also started eating small meals often. And yes I started taking magnizium glycinate regularly. Deep breathing, Qigong and meditation has help
Great routine Maddie! Best Wishes Eileen
I really hope my periods will be done soon. I've been going 4 to 5 months between cycles currently. I've also got most of the other symptoms too
Fingers crossed for you Jennifer
Water infused with lemon helps me so much!
Super and so easy! Best Wishes Eileen
And cranberry juice
Better to take capsules. Less sugars
I take vitamin d and turmeric with black pepper tablets magnesium tablets with vitamin c and drink ginger tea and plenty of water ❤
sounds a good combination!
Good afternoon eillen my hands are broke out ❤ thank you for your video s ♥️🌹
You're welcome Patricia, hope my tips are helpful! Best Wishes Eileen
This video is very helpful thank you! My blood work shows no deficiency However exercise for more than 45 minutes hurts with tingling spams and weird cramps on outer thigh upper legs still mag 2 to 3 x a week.
You're welcome. You may find taking the Balance Mineral Drink can be of benefit; it contains magnesium which is known to help with muscle function and potassium for energy www.avogel.co.uk/food/products/balance-mineral-drink/ Best Wishes Eileen
I don't suppose there's a way to encourage the process...?
You can often make things easier by using specific herbs or supplements for symptoms and improving the diet and reducing strss can be helpful too
I'm 45 and definitely started perimenopause in my mid 30s, so hope that soon I will finally reach menopause. The hot flashes are not fun, but then I end up feeling cold. Have noticed my periods skipping more frequently, and so far have gone 3 months without one
Fingers crossed for you Tara! Best Wishes Eileen
I wonder if menopause has anything to do with karens 🤔
Im 60 this is new ..and moods
At what age does it all start ? I'm 39 and have at least half of these symptoms
Hi A small number of women do start the menopause before 40, especially if other close female relatives started around the same age. However, other issues such as stress, diet, health conditions such as vitamin D or B12deficiency can all affect the hormone too!
I was dx at age 2. I just tell ppl ibs is like having the stomach flu 24/7 but with more cramps.
When would it be best to take the Menoforce tablets ? I am struggling with lots of hot flushes and wake easily because of them. Thanks.
Hi Ellie For night time symptoms, it's best to take the tablet with your evening meal. Best Wishes Eileen
Can someone be in early stages of Peri-Menopause at age 37? My cycle has gone from being regular as clock work then to irregular and unpredictable in the last 12months.
Hi Leanne A small number of women do start the menopause early, especially if other close female relatives started around the same age. However, other issues such as stress, change of diet, excessive exercise could all affect periods too!
Certainly not a topic to be described by a menopause coach. It is something too much out of their scope. Their silly advice in advance matters can sometimes make people get into trouble. Only a doctor is certified enough to talk about the depth of such topics.
